Agujaceratops
Agujaceratops was a herbivore (plant-eater) that lived in the late
Cretaceous period,
between about 83 and 70 million years ago,
Agujaceratops was about 17 feet (5.2 meters) long, and weighed something in
the region of 2 tons.
Agujiaceratops is similar to
Chasmosaurus and
Pentaceratops.
Indeed, when Agujiaceratops was
first discovered in
1938, it
was thought to be a
Chasmosaurus species
- it was only after further
fossils were found in
1991,
it was realized that Agujiaceratops should be placed in its own genus.
