Utahraptor was a carnivore (meat-eater) that lived in North America during the early Cretaceous period, between about 132 and 119 million years ago. Its name, was chosen in reflection of the fact that it was discovered in the Cedar Mountain Formation in Grand County, Utah.

Utahraptor was about 21 feet (6 meters) long, about 6½ feet (2 meters) tall, and probably weighed around 1,500 pounds (700 kilograms).

Utahraptor's most formidable weapon was the hige curved claws on its hind feet. Older reconstructions of the animal generally depict as being featherless, or with perhaps a crest of a few feathers. Today however, there the view that this animal would have been covered in feathers is increasingly accepted.

Product Description:

Dinosaurs were amazing creatures. From the time the first dinosaur bones were unearthed, the story of these unusual animals has captivated both the young and old. We continue to learn more about them from the fossil record, but there are still many questions:

  • How do dinosaurs fit with the Bible?
  • Are they really millions of years old?
  • Did they live at the same time as humans?
  • Were there dinosaurs on Noah's Ark?
  • How did they go extinct?

Guide to Dinosaurs is a fascinating and lavishly illustrated volume that takes a careful look at the evidence and how it fits with the historic accounts given in Scripture.

Dinosaur Prehistoric Fatal Fight Utahraptor VS Iguanodon: The Hunt That Spelled The Iguanodons Doom? (Learning Pop Up Books)

Product Description:
Two dinosaurs: One the hunter and the other the hunted…. Who survived?

One thing we know for a fact is that the home territories of the terrifying and huge Utahraptor and the less terrifying but even bigger Iguanodon overlapped for millions of years in North America. So the big question is could a full-grown Iguanodon be taken down by a hungry Utahraptor? If the Utahraptor could take an Iguanodon down what strategy would it use?

This children’s dinosaur book also sets the record straight about what the Utahraptors looked like and how they hunted. (Don’t be misled by Hollywood, they get it wrong every time when it comes to raptors)

This book is filled with:
- Large quality pictures
- Dinosaur facts about the Utahraptor and the Iguanodon
- Large easy to read font
- A quality interactive childrens book
- For ages 8 to 12

Not only is this a quality picture books for kids but short paragraphs make it a great book for young independent readers OR as a read aloud to young children or the family…. assuming of course they like dinosaurs and raptors!

Facts:

The holotype specimen of Utahraptor is fragmentary, consisting of skull fragments, a tibia, claws and some caudal (tail) vertebrae. These few elements suggest an animal about twice the length of Deinonychus.[1] Like other dromaeosaurids, Utahraptor had large curved claws on their second toes. One claw specimen is preserved at 22 centimetres (8.7 in) in length and is thought to reach 24 centimetres (9.4 in) restored.
