|
Coelodonta antiquitatis (the "woolly rhinoceros") is an extinct species of rhinoceros
that lived in
Europe
and Asia, from perhaps 1 million years ago until perhaps as recently
as 10,000 years ago.
Coelodonta antiquitatis lived on the steppe-tundra, and was a herbivore (plant-eater).
It is not entirely clear whether it was a grazer of grasses, or a browser, but
evidence from its muscles and teeth tends to suggest the former.
An adult of the species was around 12 feet (3.7 meters) in length. It had
two horns, a small horn between its eyes, and a larger horn on the tip
of its snout that was around 3 feet (1 meter) in length.

Coelodonta antiquitatis Timeline:
Coelodonta antiquitatis were herbivorous (plant-eating) mammals that lived between 1 million and 10,000 years ago
