Protosuchus
(not to be confused with Proterosuchus)
is an extinct genus of crocodile-relatives that lived during the early
Jurassic period
around 210 million ears ago.
Fossils of the animal have been
found in
Arizona in the
United States,
Canada,
South Africa,
and the Antarctic.
Protosuchus was a carnivore (meat-eater) is is believed to have been good at both
running and swimming. It had jaws and teeth resembling those of modern crocodiles,
had columnar legs (with longer hind limbs that forelimbs), and a powerful tail.
It was about 3 feet (1 meter) in length, and probably weighed around 90 pounds (40 kg).

Protosuchus was a crocodile-relative that lived about 210 million years ago
